Canadian animator and director Robert Verrall has died at the age of 97. The National Film Board of Canada says the Oscar-nominated filmmaker died Friday in Montreal.

Denis Law, the Manchester United and Scotland great, has died. He was 84. The death of Law, the only Scottish player to win the Ballon d’Or, was announced by his family through United on Friday. In 2021 he was diagnosed with dementia.
