OLDS — A man facing a slew of charges in connection with a serious assault in Olds failed to appear in court, so RCMP are asking for the public's help to find him.
The matter stems back to March 28 when police say a “serious assault” occurred in Olds.
“Upon arrival, a female victim was located with multiple serious injuries,” police said in a news release issued Friday.
An Investigation led police to charge Olds resident Dustin Martin, 39, with the following offences:
• break and enter,
• aggravated assault,
• unlawful confinement,
• assault while choking, suffocating or strangling,
• assault
• uttering threats and
• criminal Harassment.
Martin was held in custody and released after a judicial interim release hearing.
He was directed to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Didsbury on April 7 but failed to appear, so he now faces an additional charge of failing to attend court.
A warrant for Martin's arrest has been issued.
Anyone with information on Martin's location is encouraged to call the Olds RCMP or their local RCMP detachment.
