RCMP investigate string of fraud-related thefts throughout central Alberta

Police release pictures of man and vehicle Mounties are looking for in investigation into thefts from dealerships and online marketplaces

RCMP is asking for the public’s help in an investigation into a string of fraud-related thefts across central Alberta.

Blackfalds RCMP began an investigation on Jan. 23 into thefts from dealerships and online marketplaces throughout central Alberta.

“The suspects used fake bank drafts and drivers’ licences to purchase properties,” police said in a press release issued Thursday.

Blackfalds RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a particular black truck with a flat bed box and identifying a bearded male with a mustache that Mounties have supplied a picture of.

Anyone able to identify the individual and/or the vehicle, or have any information regarding the investigation, is asked to call the Blackfalds RCMP at 403-885-3300. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8377 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com  or by using the P3 Tips app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.
