OLDS – A 48-year-old man from Olds is facing several child pornography charges following an investigation by local RCMP and the Alberta RCMP Law Enforcement Response Team's Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE), say police.
“With the assistance of ICE, Olds RCMP launched an investigation in late May,” Cpl. Gina Slaney said in a release Friday.
“On June 3, Olds RCMP and ICE executed a search warrant at an Olds residence.”
The accused faces the following charges of child pornography: transmit, make available, distribute or sell; possession; accessing; print/publish/make.
Charles Landon, 48, has been released on a release order with extensive conditions following a judicial review.
He is scheduled to be in the Alberta Court of Justice Didsbury on July 7.
Olds RCMP detachment commander Sgt. Jamie Day thanked ICE for its assistance during the investigation.
“Olds RCMP remains fully committed in building safer communities by working in partnership with our community, as well as through investigative and enforcement efforts to achieve this goal,” Day said in the release.
