Four candidates in Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills riding

Wildrose Loyalty Coalition candidate named on June 5 ahead of nomination deadline for byelection with vote taking place June 23

OLDS – The Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills byelection to replace former MLA Nathan Cooper will have four candidates, Elections Alberta confirmed at the nomination deadline Thursday afternoon.

Bill Tufts, with the Wildrose Loyalty Coalition, joined the race on June 5 after being endorsed and registered on June 4.

Tufts joins United Conservative Party of Alberta candidate Tara Sawyer, New Democratic Party candidate Bev Toews, and Republican Party of Alberta candidate Cam Davies in the race.

The vote is on June 23, with advance polls open June 17 to 21.

All voting places will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Unofficial results will be available after voting closes on Election Day. Official results will be announced on July 3, at 10 a.m.

The Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills riding includes Kneehill County, portions of Mountain View County, as well as the town’s of Olds, Carstairs, Didsbury, Three Hills and Trochu.

Cooper won the riding with 75.29 per cent of the vote in the 2023 general election.
