More than 1,000 students ran through Centennial Park on a chilly Thursday morning, competing against one another.

The students and staff of Sundre High raised and donated their loonies towards cancer research on September 28th, the Provincial Terry Fox Run Day. The run began in the gym with Terry Fox Foundation video and visit from Tony Stockard.

The Olds High School Spartans football team took one on the chin on Saturday in front of home fans at Normie Kwong Park, losing to the Drumheller Valley Secondary School Titans 35-18.

The Olds Huskies Peewee football team lost 35-14 to the Lacombe Explosion on Saturday at Normie Kwong Park. It was the team's second game of the season while the Explosion have now played four.

The Olds Bulldogs defeated the Rocky Junior Rebels 39-28 on Saturday in Central Alberta Football League action. The win leaves the Bulldogs in sixth position in the league with a 2-1 record.

With the final two 2011 Canadian Professional Rodeo Association rodeos held this past weekend at McCord, Sask. and Hanna, Alta., most of the rodeo hands have packed their saddlebags and ridden off into the sunset.
