Admitting he wasn’t an Elvis Presley fan earlier in his life, Adam Fitzpatrick said it was actually on a dare that his career as an Elvis tribute artist began. For about three or four years, Fitzpatrick, 29, who lives in Penticton, B.C.

More than $3,400 in scholarship money was handed out to dozens of Olds and District Music Teachers Association music students following the association's annual recital on Nov. 22.

After more than two months of preparation, students from the Olds High School drama club are nearly ready to present this year's musical production, Once Upon A Mattress: The Story of the Princess and the Pea.

UPDATE: (Nov. 7) Repartee's show at Track's Pub has been rescheduled to Nov. 9. Repartee, a St. John’s, N.L. based pop band, is making its way west for the first time since forming in 2009. It will be stopping at Tracks Pub on Nov. 9.

Locomotive Ghost will be making its first appearance in two years at Tracks Pub on Nov. 2, promoting a special four-album project revolving around the seasons.

Tupelo Honey will be changing up its sound for a show on Oct. 17 at Tracks Pub. Normally, the Edmonton-based band's sound features heavily-amplified guitars, loud drums and more of a “stadium rock” sound, said front-man Dan Davidson.

Lorene Runham will be the featured artist at the Olds Art Club's semi-annual show and sale, taking place on November 2 and 3. Runham will collaborate on the show, entitled CottonwoodSky, with Theresa Potter.
