INNISFAIL – Innisfail’s annual mandatory water conservation restrictions came into effect Thursday.

“As the summer months approach, we would like to remind residents that water restrictions go into effect starting May 1 and remain in effect until September 30,” municipal officials reminded the public on social media.

Residents with odd-numbered addresses may now only water their lawns, gardens, streets, yards or grounds on odd-numbered calendar days. Residents with even-numbered addresses may water only on even-numbered calendar days.

Meanwhile, customers with new sod or seeded lawns may water their lawns daily for a period not to exceed six weeks provided that they do not do so between the hours of 12 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Watering of any lawns, gardens, streets, yards or grounds between the hours of 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. is prohibited.
