Letter: Leaving elk remains hanging for grizzly bears to get questionable

Re: ‘Unfortunate event’: Hanging harvested elk carcass south of Sundre attracts grizzly bears

The hunters that left a bull elk hanging in the air should be fine just for being stupid. What were they thinking?

Let’s grab a tractor and hang a thousand-pound body in the air dripping with blood. We shouldn’t attract any wildlife to this hanging body.

The hunters should have been fined (and) licence suspended for a year or two.

I live west of Cochrane and have grizzlies all around us. Rule of thumb: if you keep anything outside consider it free game for the wildlife to eat.

I have seen this same picture making it’s way through social media. I’m sure Fish and Wildlife are not impressed as well.
