1943 - 2024

Beth passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at the age of 81 after a long struggle with cancer.  Celebrating Beth’s life are her beloved niece Patricia van Doornum (Mike), her dear friends Stacey Wilson and Jade Eng, as well as many friends around the world.

Beth was born on April 14, 1943, in Saskatoon, SK to Boyd & Gladys Wilde.  The oldest of 3 sisters, Beth was always curious and adventurous.  After finishing her diploma from SIAST, she moved to Calgary and began a long career working in hospitals as a transcriptionist.

In 1993, Beth moved to Saudi Arabia to continue hospital work and fulfill her lifelong curiosities by travelling.  Whether it was ending up with a twisted ankle in Cyprus or doing yoga retreats in Portugal, she would take many opportunities to explore the world and connect with people from everywhere.  She returned to Central Alberta in 2013.  Beth will be remembered for her many wonderful stories, her fierce independence, her kindness, and her joyous laugh.

Beth was predeceased by her father Boyd (1991), Mother Gladys (1999), sister Jean (2005), sister Lynne (2023), and many beloved pets.

Thank you to the staff at the Innisfail Health Care Centre for their care & kindness during Beth’s last month.

An informal drop in Celebration of Life will be held from 11:30am - 1pm on April 12, 2025 at Dark Woods Brewpub, 4720 50 Street, Innisfail.  Two of Beth’s favourite things in life were good coffee and good beer!  In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Beth can be made to the Central Alberta Women’s Shelter or Central Alberta Humane Society.
