INNISFAIL – It is that time of year again for citizens to contribute to a lifesaving cause and have an evening of hysterical laughter.

The 12th annual 2025 Boob Tour stop in Innisfail is ready to go on April 16.

This year’s venue for the local Boob Tour show to raise money for the Central Alberta Cancer Centre is once again being held at the Innisfail Royal Canadian Legion Branch #104.

There are a total of 300 tickets available for this year’s Innisfail Boob Tour event and the cost is once again $30.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic the event has hit another gear in terms of success.

The 10th annual event in 2023, after three years of COVID-related cancellations, had a record-setting turnout with a complete sell-out of 300 tickets sold at $30 each.

Combined with the evening’s silent and live auctions, a total of $15,603 was raised.

The event never before raised even $10,000. Innisfail’s prior Boob Tour in 2019 prior to the pandemic raised about $6,000.

As for the 11th annual event in 2024, it raised $17,400, almost $2,000 more than the 2023 Innisfail Boob Tour show.

“I think you'd be hard pressed to find anybody that hasn't been affected by cancer, personally or family or friends,” said event co-chair Danny Rieberger. “They realized it was us giving the money to the Red Deer cancer centre. That's where anybody from our local area is going to go to if they are affected.

“We're one of the few fundraisers where every dollar anybody that comes through the door gives us, all goes to the cause,” he added. “We don't use any of the money that we get from the public for expenses. It all goes to the cause.”

Rieberger added the organizing committee has become successful in securing sponsorship and doing equally well with receiving high quality silent and live auction items.

And they are also getting top of the line comedy acts for the evening.

The evening will open with Calgary-based comedian Jarvis Zawatsky and then headlined by veteran Lori Ferguson-Ford who has been a professional stand-up comic for more than 20 years.

Ferguson-Ford’s career has seen her being voted B.C.’s Funniest New Comic and later B.C.’s Funniest Woman.

She has toured all over Canada and the United States.
